"The US and UK have not allowed Ukraine to use long-range missiles on targets in Russia, presumably fearing escalation."
This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, AFP reports.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that launching long-range weapons into Russia would mean NATO countries are at war with Moscow.
"Neither America nor the United Kingdom have given us permission to use these weapons on Russian territory, on any targets, at any distance," Zelensky said.
"I think they are worried about an escalation of hostilities," he added.
The Ukrainian president also said Ukraine's allies had increased their military support for the Ukrainian army since early September.
"The aid accelerated in September. We are glad. We feel the difference," he stressed.
Delays in arms deliveries due to political disagreements between allies resulted in Ukrainian forces not having the supplies they needed at the beginning of this year. | BGNES
