Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for the first time commented on the recent offensive of the Ukrainian army in the western Russian border region of Kursk. He defined the actions of the Ukrainian forces as "pushing the war onto the territory of the aggressor", reported AFP.
Zelensky said that Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Sirsky has already reported several times on the front line and that Ukrainian forces are "pushing the war into the aggressor's territory."
"I am grateful to each and every branch of our defense force that makes this possible," he added.
"Ukraine is proving that it can indeed deliver justice and is ensuring exactly the kind of pressure that is needed -- pressure on the aggressor," the Ukrainian leader said.
Earlier on August 10, Russia said it had evacuated tens of thousands of people from its border area, launching a so-called "anti-terrorist operation". | BGNES
