"Last night, Russia launched over 40 missiles and 40 drones into Ukraine, targeting 'critical infrastructure.'
This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, AFP reported.
"Overnight, Russia fired more than 40 missiles and 40 drones at Ukraine. Some Shahed missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles were successfully shot down. Unfortunately, only some of them. Russian terrorists have once again targeted the critical infrastructure," Zelensky wrote on the X social network.
"There was another vile missile attack against Kharkiv and Kharkiv region," the president announced.
Zelensky said infrastructure facilities were also attacked in Kyiv, the cities of Zaporizhia and Odesa in the south, as well as in the western city of Lviv, near the Polish border.
"Russian terrorists have once again targeted critical infrastructure," he added.
Ukrainian Interior Minister Igor Klymenko said hundreds of rescuers had been dispatched to locations across the country following the "massive shelling".
"For several hours, the Russian military attacked five regions of Ukraine, striking critical infrastructure," Klimenko said.
According to him, Moscow fired "more than 10 missiles" at Kharkiv, as a result of which parts of the city were left without electricity.
"Fortunately, according to operational data, today's attack did not result in deaths or injuries," the minister added.
The mayor of Kharkiv has warned that "problems with energy supply" are possible in the city, which is Ukraine's second largest.
In Zaporozhye region, Governor Ivan Fedorov reported "explosions" early on April 11.
The head of the Lviv region, Maxim Kozitsky, said that Russia attacked a gas distribution facility and an electrical substation with "cruise missiles of different classes and drones."
"Fires started. They were quickly extinguished by the firefighters," wrote Kozicki on social networks./BGNES
