Zelensky: It is shameful if aid to Israel is considered separately from aid to Kiev

"It is a shame if aid to Ukraine is separated from aid to Israel in the US Congress."

This was stated by Volodymyr Zelensky, who described such a move as "pure politics," UNIAN reported.

"To be honest, this is an embarrassment for the world. And just a shame for democracy and for all those who only talk about democracy," Zelensky stressed.

The Ukrainian president said such a move could be due to the upcoming US elections.

"And that this is pure politics. When the whole world says: how come Iran managed to hit Israel, now we should help Israel in a populist way and forget about what is happening in Ukraine. That is pure politics. It means that nobody cares how many people die in Ukraine every day. They care what their rating is. They just forget that the dead have no rating. And that if Ukraine fails, there will be war in other NATO countries. American soldiers will then have to defend themselves," the Ukrainian leader said.

He believes it is not too late for the US Congress to vote for aid for all countries whose lives depend on it.

Zelensky noted that it is difficult to fight when the number of enemy aircraft significantly outnumbers the Ukrainian ones by a ratio of 30 to 1, and artillery by 10 to 1.

"We are not asking for any special weapons. We are not talking about some missiles with a range of 2 thousand and 3 thousand km and the like. There is nothing like that. And nobody is asking for 500 or 300 aircraft. By the way, on the territory of Ukraine alone Russia uses 300 aircraft," he said.

At the same time, the head of state hopes that the policy of support for Ukraine will not change if Donald Trump is elected US president.

"I believe that the US will not stop aid. And we will be allied countries. And that the president's policy, if it changes, nobody knows, it's the choice of the Americans, but if it changes, the president's policy will not change at least on Ukraine," Zelensky said. / BGNES
