Zelensky calls on Europe to help shoot down Russian drones and missiles

President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on European countries to help shoot down drones and missiles over Ukraine following deadly Russian airstrikes in his country.

He said Ukraine had come under Russian fire with more than 100 missiles and about 100 drones, including in several western regions that border or are close to European countries.

"In different regions of Ukraine, we could do much more to protect people's lives if the aviation of our European neighbors works together with our F-16s and together with our air defense," Zelensky said in a social media post.

"If such unity works so well in the Middle East, it must work in Europe as well." Life has the same value everywhere," he added, apparently referring to US aid to Israel to shoot down Iranian missiles

He also again called on Ukraine's allies to drop restrictions on the use of long-range weapons that Kiev wants to use to strike deeper into Russian territory.

"America, Great Britain, France and other partners have the power to help us stop terror," Zelensky added. | BGNES
