Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived on Capitol Hill, where he is preparing to continue providing military support to his country. The White House said the timing was right for Zelensky to visit Washington, as Joe Biden is trying to get the aid package approved before the Christmas holidays, the Guardian reported.
A senior spokesman said the US could not let aid to Ukraine lapse, adding that the president was willing to compromise with Republicans.
Zelensky, who spoke at the National Defense University in Washington, is scheduled to visit with incoming Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and then speak with Biden at the White House. /BGNES
