Since practically all money is currently allocated to funding the army, Ukraine will find it difficult to accrue social payments without financial assistance from its Western allies. President Volodymyr Zelensky made these remarks in an interview with African media representatives, according to a report from the Ukrainian outlet UNIAN.
"Financial support for social payments is a significant issue. To be really honest with you, it will be incredibly challenging without help. The president stated, "We donate all of the money that Ukraine earns to our military."
In the absence of assistance from allies, he continued, Ukraine would be forced to decide between funding for social services and the armed forces, which might result in "a crisis in society that will affect the course of the war." "We will need to decide whether to stop giving social aid or cut back on funding for the armed forces. That is, there will be a crisis in whatever scenario. How will it impact how the conflict plays out? Sure. Will it end our conflict? No," Zelensky emphasised.
Previously, it was stated by Irina Vereshchuk, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, that approximately 40% of internally displaced people who receive government financial support are solely dependent on these monies. More than 140,000 internally displaced people had their monthly benefits halted by the Ministry of Social Policy in October after an inspection revealed they did not qualify for aid. As a result, the monthly cost of the state budget was lowered by 400 million hryvnias. /BGNES
