World Kiss Day

6 July is World Kiss Day. The date was proposed by Britain and officially recognized by the United Nations in 1988.

The idea of having a "International Kiss Day" first came to the British, who noticed that people seemed to forget to kiss. The pleasure of kissing is perhaps the most intimate feeling anyone can experience. But unfortunately it has been superseded by the purely social formality of kissing, which has now become more of a prelude to another kind of intimacy.

World Kiss Day is celebrated in all parts of the planet and is not as commercialised as 'Valentine's Day'. I BGNES
