Vucic and Macron agreed on French Rafale fighter jets for Serbia

"Macron and I reached concrete agreements on the purchase of Rafale fighter jets. I expect the signing of the contract in the next two months with the presence of the President of France in Belgrade."

This was stated by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, who is on a two-day visit to Paris, "Politika" newspaper reported.

The heads of state of France and Serbia discussed the participation of French companies in the construction of the Belgrade metro, the development of Serbian railways, cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence, etc.

"They laughed at what I said about flying cars, but we are talking to three French companies about this and we will apply it at Expo 2027. People will be able to see this for the first time in Southeast Europe in Belgrade and Serbia," Vucic said.

New investment plans of France in Serbia were also discussed at the bilateral meeting.

The Serbian head of state later held a meeting with French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu, with whom they discussed specialized industry.

"We will cooperate in many areas. I believe that all doors are open to us," Vucic said.

He said Macron understood Belgrade's policy towards Kosovo.

"The talks on Kosovo and Metohija were not simple, but he understood our position," Vucic explained.

On economic cooperation, the Serbian president said:

"Economic relations between Serbia and France are good, but we should and can do even more. At the moment, there are 339 French companies employing 11 125 people. Serbia has attracted up to 80% of all French investments in the region. I hope that these figures will increase "in our favor with further investment, while Serbia, for its part, will continue to improve its business environment". / BGNES
