"The EU should consider the possibility of using frozen Russian assets for Ukraine's military needs."
This was stated by the President of the European Commission (EC), Ursula von der Leyen, the Guardian reported.
"It is time to start a conversation about using windfall profits from frozen Russian assets to jointly purchase military equipment for Ukraine," von der Leyen said in a speech to the European Parliament, calling for the EU to do more on defense policy.
"There could not be a stronger symbol and a better use of this money than to make Ukraine and all of Europe a safer place to live," added the head of the EC/BGNES
