Vladimir Putin: The conflict in Ukraine has become global

The conflict in Ukraine has taken on a global character following attacks by Western long-range missiles on the Kursk and Bryansk regions, Russian President Vladimir Putin said. During an address to the nation, Putin also said U.S. and British long-range precision-guided missiles had hit Bryansk and Kursk regions, BGNES reported.

"From this moment on, as we have repeatedly stressed, the regional conflict in Ukraine, previously provoked by the West, has acquired elements of a global nature," Putin stressed.

The United States destroyed the international security system, not Russia, the Russian president said. "I will stress once again that it was the United States, not Russia, that destroyed the international security system," he noted.

Putin accused Washington of pushing the entire world towards global conflict. He announced a successful test of the latest medium-range missile, the Oreshnik.

"In response to the use of US and British weapons, on 21 November this year the Russian armed forces carried out a combined strike on one of the sites of the Ukrainian defence-industrial complex. The combat conditions included a test of one of the latest Russian medium-range missile systems. In this case a ballistic missile in non-nuclear hypersonic equipment, our missile engineers called it "Oreshnik," Putin said.

The Kremlin leader added that the test was successful and the purpose of the launch was achieved.

He specified that a complex in the Ukrainian city of Dnepropetrovsk, which produces, among other things, missile equipment, was hit. "One of the largest and best-known industrial complexes of the Soviet era, which still today produces missile equipment and other weapons, has been hit on the territory of Ukraine in the city of Dnipropetrovsk," Putin stated.

The means to counter Russia's latest weapons, such as the Oreshnik missiles, do not exist today, the Russian president insisted.

"We believe that we have the right to use our weapons against the military facilities of those countries that allow their weapons to be used against our facilities. And in the event of an escalation of aggressive actions, we will respond just as decisively and mirror," the Russian head of state stressed.

The United States made a mistake by destroying the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Short-Range Missiles in 2019, the Kremlin's master stressed. "We believe that the United States made a mistake by unilaterally destroying the treaty on the elimination of medium- and shorter-range missiles in 2019 under a fabricated pretext," Putin said.

The issue of further deployment of medium- and shorter-range missiles in Russia will be resolved depending on the actions of the United States and its allies, the Russian president said. "The sites to be struck during further tests of our latest missile systems will be determined by us depending on the threats to the security of the Russian Federation," he announced.

Russia will react decisively and mirror in case of escalation of aggressive actions. "I recommend that the ruling elites of those countries that are drawing up plans to use their military contingents against Russia should seriously think about this," Russian President Vladimir Putin warned. I BGNES
