Victims tell BBC: "Andrew Tate raped and strangled us"

Two women who claim they were raped and suffocated by controversial social media influencer Andrew Tate have told the BBC about the experience.

Another woman first claimed she was raped by Tate's younger brother, Tristan - also an influencer with millions of followers.

The Tate brothers, aged 37 and 36, are currently charged in Romania with human trafficking and setting up an organised group to sexually exploit women. Andrew Tate has also been charged with rape.

If found guilty, the two men could be jailed for more than 10 years. They vehemently deny the charges against them.

Andrew Tate is currently under house arrest in Romania. In addition to the charges already against him, prosecutors are considering new charges against him, including sex with a minor and trafficking of minors. The two brothers are also being investigated for trafficking 34 other women.

Now, two British women not involved in the Romanian case against the Tate brothers have provided the BBC with detailed first-hand accounts against Andrew Tate for alleged rape and sexual assault. The allegations date back at least 10 years to when Tate lived in Luton.

Another British woman has made a new accusation of rape against Tristan Tate, claiming that he clasped his hands around her throat as he did it.

Anna (not her real name) said she was hanging out with Andrew Tate in Luton in 2013. After a couple of dates, she said she ended up at his house.

"He started kissing me... and just looked up at the ceiling and said, 'I'm just debating whether or not to rape you. All of a sudden he just grabbed me by the throat, shoved me into the back of the bed and choked me extremely hard." Anna says he then raped her.

She said that after the attack, Tate sent her disturbing text messages and voicemails about rape and sexual assault.

"Am I a bad person? Because the more you didn't like it, the more I liked it," he said in one voicemail. In another text, he writes, "I love raping you."

Another woman, who we'll call Sienna, describes a similar story.

She says she first met Andrew Tate ten years ago in Luton: "We got on very well and had a few drinks."

She says they had what she describes as "standard one-night stands".

A few months later, Sienna says she met Tate again.

She claims that this time he assaulted her.

"We went into my bedroom ... and started having sex," she says. "Then he put his hands on my throat."

Sienna says she struggled for air and then lost consciousness. When she regained consciousness, she says he was still having sex with her.

"I was absolutely terrified," she says. "All I remember was that I was barely breathing... It was rape." | BGNES
