Bulgarian international Aleksandar Vezenkov did not record minutes in a game for the first time since joining the National Basketball Association (NBA) in the Sacramento Kings' 121-118 overtime victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.
Sasha was left out of the lineup by coach Mike Brown. In his absence Kings, who did not start the new season in the best possible way in the League and continue to play without the injured De'Aaron Fox, came to a dramatic victory over Portland in California.
Above all for Sacramento was center Domantas Sabonis, who came up short of a triple-double - 27 points, 11 rebounds and 9 assists, on 11/14 shooting from the field. Malik Monk had a double-double off the bench - 23 points and 10 assists. Four other Sacramento players scored 10 or more points – Kevin Huerter (17), Davion Mitchell (16), Harrison Barnes (12) and Alex Len (10).
For Portland Jeremy Grant scored highest with 38 points, and three finished with 18 each, two of them with a double-double – Deandre Ayton (18 points and 10 rebounds) and Skyler Mays (18 points and 11 assists). Shaedon Sharpe also scored 18 points and Matisse Thybulle had 13, but their efforts were not enough for the team from Oregon. /BGNES
