UNESCO condemned the killing of journalists in Lebanon

 

Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO, condemned the killing of media workers Farah Omar and Rabih Me'mari in Lebanon on 21 November 2023.

"I condemn the murders of Farah Omar and Rabih Me'mari. The protection of journalists and media workers as civilians is a requirement of international law, including UN Security Council Resolution 2222/2015 on the protection of journalists, media professionals and associated personnel in situations of conflict. I call for a full and transparent investigation into the circumstances of their deaths," said Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO. /BGNES
