Carlos Nasar is the Olympic champion in the 89kg category at the weightlifting tournament in Paris, reports BGNES. The Bulgarian blew away the competition in a flawless manner, also setting a world record of 224 kg in the snatch.

Nasar was flawless in his first five attempts in both movements, making three successful ones in the snatch - 173, 177 and 180 kg, and two successful ones in the clean and jerk - 213 and an impressive 224 kg, which also set a world record. Thus, with a total of 404 kg our representative won the Olympic gold in an emphatic way.

A full 14 kg far behind him in the duel was Yaison Lopez of Colombia with 390. Antonino Pizzolato of Italy claimed the bronze with a bout of 384 kg, one more than the representative of Moldova Marin Robu.
