The UN General Assembly has voted overwhelmingly in favour of Palestine's bid for full membership of the organisation - a symbolic move due to the US veto in the Security Council.
The resolution received 143 votes in favour, 9 against and 25 abstentions. It said Palestinians should be admitted to the UN and granted some additional rights as observers from September 2024, AFP reported.
