Rebuilding Gaza after the war between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas will require between 30 billion and 40 billion USD, said Abdullah Al-Dardari, head of the UN Development Program’s regional office for Arab countries.
He stressed that the scale of destruction in Gaza is "enormous and unprecedented."
"The world community has never faced such a scale since World War II," Al-Dardari added.
The Gaza war between Israel and Hamas has been ongoing since October 7, 2023. The Palestinian side estimates the number of casualties at more than 34,500. In late April, during negotiations, Hamas was offered a 40-day ceasefire and hostage exchange. For several months, the parties to the conflict have been unable to agree on a ceasefire. /BGNES
