Ukrainian air defences shot down 89 Russian Shahid drones in a massive night attack, as well as one Kh-59 missile.
The main direction of the attack was Kyiv and the surrounding region, the "Kyiv Independent" reported.
The Kyiv City Military Administration said the attack was the heaviest drone attack on the capital so far in 2024. Air defence systems destroyed more than 40 drones in the airspace of the city and nearby areas.
A residential building in the Kyiv region caught fire after being hit by falling debris from the downed drone.
Ukraine's air force said the strike was among the most massive mass drone attacks carried out by Russia since the start of the full-scale invasion. | BGNES
