Ukrainian troops entered 10 km into Russia during the attack in the Kursk region, the Institute for the Study of War reported.
On August 7, the Russian General Staff vowed to crush the invasion and push the Ukrainian fighters back to the border, but its idea did not materialize.
"Ukrainian forces have made a confirmed advance of up to 10 km in Russia's Kursk region amid ongoing mechanized offensive operations on Russian territory," the US-based IIV said in its latest report.
.The extent and location of the Ukrainian offensive in Kursk Oblast so far confirmed indicate that Ukrainian forces have breached at least two Russian defense lines and a fortified position.
The offensive is concentrated in the logistics center of Suja, a town of about 5,000 inhabitants, located eight kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
Officials in Moscow have released scant information, but Russian military bloggers with ties to the military have confirmed that Kiev has made significant progress and lamented the deteriorating situation.
"The situation is complicated and continues to worsen," blogger Yuriy Podoliaka wrote in a post on Telegram.
He stated that the city of Suja was "full of Ukrainian soldiers" and "totally lost"
"The enemy is entrenching, which indicates that the fighting is likely to be prolonged," the Dva Mayora channel said.
Multiple military bloggers reported that Ukrainian troops had advanced toward the town of Korenevo, more than 25 km from the Ukrainian border.
Russian energy giant Gazprom said it would continue to deliver gas through the Suja metering station, the last transit point for Russian gas bound for Europe via Ukraine.
Russia's defense ministry said its forces destroyed a US Bradley fighter jet that Ukraine used in the invasion and shot down Ukrainian drones over the region.
