Ukraine shot down 32 Russian drones overnight

Ukrainian air defence units have shot down 32 of 46 Russian Shahed unmanned aerial vehicles launched at various targets on the night of December 27, "Kyiv Independent" reported.

The drones that were not intercepted hit frontline areas, mostly in the Kherson region.

The Russian military has launched waves of drones from two directions - Balaclava in occupied Crimea and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Krasnodar Krai, Russia. The attacks began around 7:00 p.m. local time on December 26 and continued until 3:50 a.m. today.

Ukrainian air defence units, including tactical aviation, anti-aircraft missile units and mobile fire groups, were deployed in Mykolaiv, Kherson, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi and Kirovohrad regions.

The governor of Dnipropetrovsk region, Serhiy Lisak, said 13 drones had been shot down over the region, and said the overnight attacks had not resulted in any injuries or casualties. /BGNES
