Ukraine hit another Russian ship

Ukraine says it has damaged a Russian military patrol vessel in the Black Sea near the Crimean peninsula.

A video by Ukrainian military intelligence shows several naval drones striking the ship. This is followed by several powerful explosions.

Ukrainian military intelligence spokesman Andriy Yusov said the ship had been hit before but was destroyed after the nighttime attack by naval drones.

The ship that was struck is the Sergey Kotov, one of the most modern Russian ships, the first model of which was built in 2014. Its cost is $65 million, according to Ukrainian intelligence.

"As for the crew, the details are being clarified. There are dead and wounded. But probably some of the crew managed to evacuate," he told Ukrainian media.

There was no official response from the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Earlier, Ukrainian military intelligence said its drones struck the ship near the Kerch Strait, causing "damage to the stern, starboard and port sides."

The Ukrainian president's chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, said the Russian Black Sea fleet was a "symbol of occupation," adding that "it cannot be in Ukraine's Crimea." /BGNES
