The Ukrainian Intelligence Service posted on Telegram details of a successful cyber operation against Russia.
The target of the operation was more precisely the Federal Tax Service (FTS). Ukrainian intelligence claims that their attack managed to break into over 2,300 servers and data centers of the FTS, physically located all over Russia, even in occupied Crimea.
This would mean that Russia's tax information for the past years is in the hands of Ukrainian intelligence.
After the attack, the hackers installed malware on all the servers and the data from them was successfully deleted, including a large amount of archives.
Ukrainians believe that after the attack, Russia will need at least a month to restore normal operation of its tax agency.
More information is expected after Ukraine's analysis of the leaked information. /BGNES
