75-year-old King Charles III's cancer diagnosis was made early, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak told the BBC.
"Thankfully, it was caught early and now everyone will wish that he gets the treatment he needs and makes a full recovery," Sunak said.
The British leader said he has been in regular contact with the monarch since the cancer diagnosis and that their communication will continue as normal.
"I think we're all hoping and praying for that, and I'm of course in regular contact with him and I'll continue to communicate with him as usual."
Buckingham Palace announced that Charles had been diagnosed with cancer and had begun treatment, which caused an outpouring of support from around the world.
"A lot of families across the country listening to this are going to be affected by the same thing and know what this means for everyone," Sunak said.
"So we're just going to support him and hopefully get through this as quickly as possible." /BGNES
