Turkey's first communications satellite Turksat 6A to be launched into orbit on 9 July

A Turkish satellite will be launched into orbit from the Cape Canaveral test site in the US state of Florida on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket.

The Türksat 6A's journey will begin at 00:20 BST on the night of July 8/9.

The satellite is the largest Turkish research and development project that has been produced in the country. "Turksat 6A will meet the country's satellite communications needs in the area of wide-area television broadcasting services. Once it reaches its position in orbit, Türksat 6A will provide services in an area covering a wide geographical area in Turkey, Europe and South Asia.
