Exports of passenger cars from Turkey in the first half of 2024 amounted to $5.6 billion, Anadolu Agency reported, citing the Turkish Exporters Association and the Uludag Automotive Industry Exporters Association (OIB).
During the January-June period, Turkey exported passenger cars to 80 countries, autonomous regions and free economic zones.
Passenger cars made up 31.9% of the total exports of the country's automotive industry, which during the period amounted to 17.7 billion dollars.
Exports of passenger cars from Turkey for the January-June period increased by 3.5% year-on-year.
In January-June 2023, passenger car exports from Turkey amounted to $5.45 billion.
In the first half of the year, France became the leading importer of passenger cars from Turkey. The export of passenger cars produced in Turkey to this European country in the January-June period amounted to 1.16 billion dollars.
In second place is Italy - 710 million, and in third - Great Britain - 692 million dollars. Exports of Turkish-made cars to both countries increased compared to last year, when the figures stood at $534 million and $552 million, respectively.
Spain ranks fourth in the list of the main exporters of passenger cars from Turkey for the period January-June 2024. The sales volume amounted to 618 million dollars.
The fifth place is occupied by Germany. Sales for this European country in the first half of the year increased by 43.3% compared to the same period last year - from 377 million dollars to 540 million dollars. I BGNES
