Donald Trump has hinted at some of the names on his short list of vice presidential contenders, with Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis among the more surprising inclusions.
The British newspaper "The Independent" writes that Donald Trump has received a list of potential contenders for the vice presidential post. It features popular former presidential candidates Vivek Ramaswamy and Tim Scott, Florida Congressman Byron Donalds, South Dakota Governors Kristy Noam and Florida Governor DeSantis. The latter ran a pretty disastrous campaign for the White House, during which he failed to connect with voters and was mocked and ridiculed by Trump, who derided him as "Ron DeSantimonius."
Another intriguing candidate is Tulsi Gabbard, a former representative from Hawaii who was the Democratic presidential nominee four years ago. Gabbard joined Trump's attacks on NATO member countries for not paying contributions to the alliance but at the same time expecting protection from the US.
"Honestly, all of these people are good," Trump said, naming names without naming anyone in particular. "They're all good, they're all trustworthy. And I always say I need people with common sense because there's so much going on in this country that doesn't make sense." /BGNES
