Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against CBS Television. The reason is an interview with Trump's rival for the White House Kamala Harris aired on "60 Minutes" in early October.
The complaint, filed in federal court in the Northern District of Texas, alleges that the network aired two different responses by Harris to a question about the war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, US News reported.
The version aired during the Oct. 6 broadcast of "60 Minutes" did not include what the lawsuit calls "word salad" in Harris' response about the Biden administration's influence on Israel's conduct of the war.
"Former President Trump's repeated allegations against '60 Minutes' are false," a spokesman said.
"The lawsuit Trump filed today against CBS is completely without merit and we will vigorously defend against it," the spokesman added.
The lawsuit involves a jury trial and damages of about $10 billion, the filing said. The suit alleges violation of a Texas law prohibiting deceptive acts in the conduct of business. | BGNES
