Republican Donald Trump has rejected a challenge from his Democratic rival Kamala Harris to debate him again ahead of the US presidential election on November 5.
"It's too late to have another debate, the voting has already started," the former president retorted, referring to the start of early voting in some states across the country.
A few hours earlier, the vice president suggested a showdown with his Republican opponent on CNN's October 23 broadcast.
"I hope Donald Trump will join me," she was quoted as saying by AFP.
By all accounts, she was the one who dominated their exchange on September 10, consistently outing her rival on the issues most likely to bruise his ego - his rally attendance, the displeasure of his former political allies, his international reputation...
That didn't stop Donald Trump from claiming that, on the contrary, he had "won" the debate, while attacking the impartiality of the two ABC journalists who were leading the exchange.
The Republican nominee already engaged in a debate with Joe Biden in June that proved disastrous for the Democratic president.
A few weeks later, the octogenarian leader decided to throw in the towel in favor of his vice president - one of the biggest political reversals in American history. | BGNES
