Tottenham faces setback as two key players ruled out until New Year

Tottenham's hopes for a strong Premier League campaign this season have been dealt a significant blow with the loss of two crucial players until the end of the year. Center-back Mickey van de Ven and midfielder James Maddison will be sidelined for the next two months.

Van de Ven had to leave the field during the first half of Monday's defeat at Chelsea, with Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou revealing a strained hamstring as the cause. Maddison, initially thought to be dealing with minor ankle pain after the Blues game, will also spend an extended period on the sidelines. "The situation with Maddison is much worse than we thought. The following day didn't bring positive news, we sent him for a scan, and he is likely out for the remainder of the year," stated Postecoglou, who was recently honored as the Manager of the Month in the Premier League for the third consecutive time.

Additionally, striker Richarlison will be unavailable for approximately a month, while defenders Christian Romero and Destiny Udoji are suspended for today's match against Wolverhampton. /BGNES
