Thompson leads Warriors to victory over Jazz in his first game as a reserve in 12 years

The Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson recorded his first NBA reserve game in 12 years and led his team to a 140-137 victory over the Utah Jazz on the road in a regular season game. Thompson last appeared off the bench on March 11, 2012 in his debut season in the League. He was replaced in the starting five by rookie Brandin Podziemski this night, but responded in the best way possible.

In 28 minutes of play, Klay scored 35 points (7 triples), added 6 rebounds and did not lose the ball once. "You can do two things: sulk or fight back. I think I did the latter very well today" said after the game Thompson, who became the sixth Warriors player to score at least 15,000 franchise points. Experienced Draymond Green also had a season-best 23 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 4 steals and 2 blocks without a single turnover. Star Steph Curry had a quieter night and finished with 16 points and 10 assists, with a total of six home team players scoring 13 or more points. For Utah, Collin Sexton scored 35 points and Keyonte George had 33.
