The head of the US Senate Intelligence Committee, Mark Warner, said that Ukraine could receive a new batch of weapons in accordance with the bill passed by the House of Representatives the previous day, as early as next week. The aid package includes, among other things, ATACMS tactical missiles.
"We have been informed that as soon as US President Joe Biden signs the bill, making sure that Congress does its job, these weapons will be shipped by the end of the week," the senator told CBS television. According to the senator, the aid package will include long-range weapons, including ATASMS missiles, which is spelled out in the bill.
A day earlier, the Republican-controlled US House of Representatives passed a sweeping bill that includes transferring frozen Russian assets to Ukraine, as well as providing military aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan. According to the bill, 61 billion dollars will be spent on Ukraine's military needs./BGNES
