The US has carried out additional strikes against Houthi bases in Yemen, according to a US official, a day after launching a coordinated multinational attack on nearly 30 of the group's positions.
The strikes were of a much smaller range than the previous night. Among the targets was a radar facility used by the Houthis, CNN reported.
Earlier, the rebels fired an anti-ship ballistic missile at a merchant ship.
On January 11, the US and UK struck 28 separate Houthi targets in an attempt to disrupt their ability to attack international sea lanes in the Red Sea. The two countries were also supported by Canada, Australia, Bahrain and the Netherlands.
The blow in the last few hours was delivered unilaterally by the United States.
Washington has threatened the possibility of further military action if the Houthis continue to attack merchant ships in the Red Sea with drones and missiles.
"We will make sure we respond to the Houthis if they continue this outrageous behavior along with our allies," US President Joe Biden stressed. /BGNES
