The United States and Britain have struck dozens of targets in Yemen in response to repeated Houthi attacks on ships that have disrupted global trade, AFP reported.
"The strikes were directed against 36 Houthi targets in 13 locations in Yemen in response to the Houthi's continued attacks on international and commercial ships, as well as naval vessels transiting the Red Sea," Washington and London said in a joint statement. Other countries have provided support for the operation.
"The American and British strikes were aimed at sectors in the southern part of the capital," Al-Masira TV reported. Witnesses reported large explosions in the city. /BGNES
