Vatican press director Matteo Bruni said the CT scan the pope underwent on Saturday ruled out pneumonia, but showed inflammation of the lungs causing "certain breathing difficulties." For greater effectiveness of the therapy, an avocat is placed on the hand for intravenous infusion of antibiotic therapy. The condition of Francis is "good", reported "Vatican News".
Matteo Bruni confirmed that the CT scan, which the pope underwent early Saturday afternoon at the Gemeli di Tibero hospital in Rome, "rules out pneumonia, but shows inflammation of the lungs, which causes some breathing difficulties."
"For greater effectiveness of the therapy, an agent has been placed for intravenous infusion of antibiotic therapy," informed the spokesperson. He explained that "to facilitate the Pope's recovery, some important engagements scheduled for these days have been postponed so that he can devote the desired time and energy to them. Others, of an institutional nature or easier to implement given current health conditions, have been confirmed." /BGNES
