The new foreign minister of Ukraine chose Romania for his first official visit

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibikha arrived in the Romanian capital Bucharest for a meeting with his Romanian counterpart Luminica Odobescu. This is also the first visit of the top Ukrainian diplomat after taking office.

"The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andriy Sibiha, started face-to-face talks with his Romanian counterpart Luminica Odobescu in Bucharest during his first foreign visit to Romania," the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry wrote on Telegram.

The diplomatic office informed that Sibiha will make his first regional tour of the neighboring countries, which will begin with a working visit to Romania.

The main topics of the negotiations in Bucharest will be the continued support for Ukraine's defense capabilities and energy stability, progress on the path to joining the EU and NATO, the implementation of the Peace Formula, security in the Black Sea and the protection of the legitimate rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens in Romania.

"The choice of the first destination for a foreign tour is a signal of Ukraine's determination to develop a constructive, predictable and mutually beneficial good-neighborly policy, which is of strategic importance in the context of Ukraine's accession to the EU and NATO," the Ukrainian MFA added. | BGNES
