The FBI said the shooting of Donald Trump is being investigated as a potential act of terrorism. The shooter acted alone.
"We're investigating this as an attempted murder, but we're also looking at it as a potential act of domestic terrorism," Robert Wells, assistant director of the FBI's counterterrorism division, told CNN.
The weapon used in the assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump was an AR-556 semi-automatic carbine that was legally purchased.
Authorities believe the gun was purchased by the gunman's father, but they don't yet know how he got access to the gun and whether he took it without his father's knowledge. I BGNES
