Amazon Prime Video confirmed the renewal of the critically acclaimed Fallout series for a second season just one week after the show debuted, according to IGN.
"Jonah, Lisa, Geneva and Graham took the world by storm with this groundbreaking, wild series. The bar has been raised high for fans of this iconic video game, and so far it looks like we've exceeded their expectations while attracting millions of new fans to the franchise," said the executive. on Amazon MGM Studios Jennifer Salke.
"The cast, led by Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, and Kyle MacLachlan, rocked it. We'd like to thank Jonah and Lisa and our friends at Bethesda for bringing the series to us, as well as Geneva and Graham for coming on board as showrunners. We're excited to announce a second season in just one week and take viewers even further into the surreal world of Fallout," Salke added.
The action takes place 219 years after the bombs fell and turned the world into an irradiated wasteland.
The TV series Fallout follows Lucy McLean, a young woman who grew up in a bunker that had exploded radioactive waste, who comes to the surface to search for her missing father. The series also follows other characters, including Goggins' Ghoul and Brotherhood of Steel member Maximus.
The Fallout series hit Prime Video on April 10, when the streaming service released all eight episodes of the first season simultaneously. Upon its debut, the series was met with overwhelmingly positive reviews from fans and critics alike - especially those who praised Goggins for his portrayal of Goole Cooper Howard.
Although the series is not a direct adaptation of any of the Fallout video games, executive producer Jonathan Nolan has described the Fallout TV show as a "non-interactive version" of Fallout 5. /BGNES
