The European Prosecutor's Office has entered Bulgartransgaz, investigates the Turkish gas company Botaş

Raid by the European Public Prosecutor's Office is underway at Bulgartransgaz. Bulgarian police have secured access to the gas operator this morning without specifying how many investigators are involved. Brussels declined to comment on the raid.

According to the Interior Ministry, the access was secured for an investigation related to the Turkish gas company Botaş. The European Commission has been investigating Botash for several weeks.

BGNES reminds that in early August, Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov raised with his Turkish counterpart Alparslan Bayraktar the issue of renegotiating the agreement between Bulgargaz and the Turkish energy company Botaş.

Earlier, the Turkish company rejected Bulgaria's request to revise the gas contract. The Turkish gas operator has warned our country of serious consequences if it fails to pay under the 13-year agreement.

On 15 August, representatives of Botas are due to visit Bulgaria for a meeting with Bulgargas. | BGNES
