The EcoChic Design Award is a Redress-organized sustainable fashion design competition that encourages budding fashion designers and students to make traditional clothes with little textile waste. Each competition cycle includes many months of training and design visits for designers. First, we educate designers on the detrimental impact of the fashion industry on the environment to promote sustainable fashion design, zero waste, and recycling. Second, we provide designers with the skills they need to understand sustainable fashion design through lectures, videos, publications, and referral links. We also challenge students to generate textile waste in all of its forms to develop sustainable design. Only then will we put designers to the ultimate test in our exclusive sustainable design competition - lowering the cost of apparel. It highlights sustainable design talent and recognizes the finest with career-changing prizes to alter fashion.
The first global cycle began in early January 2018, inviting entries from all nations worldwide.
Redress created and coordinated the EcoChic Design Award.
