The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has provided a loan of 110 million euros, along with EU grants of 150 million euros, for the corridor in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the "Sarajevo Times" reported.
The EBRD has signed an official contract with the Ministry of Finance of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo, with which the contract commits to grant a favorable loan in the amount of 110 million euros for the construction of the section from Mostar North to Mostar South of Corridor 5.
This is the last section of the southern part of the corridor to be funded and will be connected to other sections south of Mostar to the Croatian border. Once these sections are completed, the highway from Mostar to the Croatian south will be able to function fully.
This project includes the construction of a road interchange at the entrance to the city and a 15-kilometer stretch of two-lane highway that will help ease congestion around the city of Mostar. The section also includes a toll collection point, five tunnels with a total length of about 6 kilometers and ten viaducts. /BGNES
