Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen was attacked and hit by a man in the center of Copenhagen, the "Ritau" news agency reported.
The Prime Minister's Office said Frederiksen was "shocked by the incident" but did not provide further details.
Police in Copenhagen confirmed that there was an incident involving the prime minister, but did not provide further information about what happened.
"We have one person arrested in the case, which we are currently investigating. We have no further comments or remarks on the case at this time," the police wrote on the X social network.
"I have to say that this has shaken all of us who are close to her," said Danish Environment Minister Magnus Hoenicke.
