The Bulgarian students returned with 6 medals from the International Linguistics Olympiad

The Bulgarian students returned with 6 medals from the International Linguistics Olympiad in Brazil. The competition took place between July 23 and 31. Representatives of nearly 40 countries participated in this year's edition.

The silver award went to twelfth-grader Nia Dimitrova from the Sofia Mathematical High School "Paisiy Hilendarski".

The remaining 5 bronze medals are for twelfth graders Ani Katelieva (NGDEK "Konstantin-Kyril the Philosopher" in Sofia), Nikolay Georgiev (PMG "St. Kliment Ohridski" in Silistra), Magdalena Vigenina (SMG "Paisiy Hilendarski") and eleventh grader Sirma Kadardjova and ninth grader Ivanimira Nedelcheva from SMG "Paisiy Hilendarski".

The team leaders are Alexander Velinov from the Union of Mathematicians in Bulgaria and Lyubomir Zlatkov from the Institute of Informatics and Mathematics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

The national team also visited our Embassy in Brazil and was welcomed by Ambassador Bozhidara Sarchadzhieva and Consul Nina Pencheva.

The funds for the preparation and participation in the International Olympiad in Linguistics are provided under the national program "Student Olympiads and Competitions" of the Ministry of Education and Science. I BGNES
