Pop megastar Taylor Swift has broken her silence on canceling three concerts in Vienna because of a bomb threat, saying the incident fills her with "fear" and "guilt".
"The cancellation of our shows in Vienna was devastating. The reason filled me with a huge sense of dread guilt because so many people planned to come," the American wrote on Instagram.
The concerts in Vienna, part of the European leg of Swift's massive Eras tour, were canceled after authorities warned of a terror plot by supporters of the Islamic State group.
Police have arrested three suspects for an alleged threat to assault. The United States said it shared intelligence to help the investigation.
The main suspect, a 19-year-old Austrian with roots in North Macedonia, has confessed. He "intended to carry out an attack with explosives and knives," according to the head of Austria's domestic intelligence agency (DSN), Omar Hajjawi-Pirchner.
Swift thanked the authorities.
"Thanks to them, we mourned concerts, not lives. I was encouraged by the love and unity I saw in the fans who came together," the star said.
The European leg of Swift's sold-out tour kicked off in Paris in May and spanned Sweden, Portugal, Spain, the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Poland.
It ended on August 20 at London's Wembley Stadium. I BGNES
