According to Forbes magazine, global superstar Taylor Swift has become a billionaire.
The 34-year-old pop singer has amassed $1.1 billion based on earnings from her Eras Tour and the value of her pop catalog.
"Swift is the first musician to reach 10-figure status based solely on her albums and performances," Forbes reported.
Singer Rihanna made the list thanks to her cosmetics brand Fenty, and Beyoncé's husband, rapper Jay-Z, became the first hip-hop billionaire in 2019 based on his collection of art, music and stakes in companies and brands drinks.
The business magazine estimates that Swift's fortune consists of about $500 million from royalties and tours and a similar amount from the value of her music.
An additional $125 million comes from its real estate portfolio.
She joins French luxury brand LVMH owner Bernard Arnault, who claims the top spot as the world's richest person with an estimated $233 billion.
Tech mogul Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, ranks second on the Forbes list with an estimated $195 billion.
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos took third place on the list, while Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg took fourth place and software company Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison rounded out the top five.
After Swift's final concerts, which began in March 2023, she became the first artist to surpass $1 billion in revenue, breaking the Guinness World Record for the highest-grossing music tour.
The concert film, based on her tour, also generated the highest ticket sales at the Vue International box office in the UK and Ireland on its opening day.
She also became the world's best-selling artist of 2023, breaking another record, topping the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry's (IFIF) global artist list for the fourth time.
Her 2022 albums Midnights and the 2023 reissues Speak Now (Taylor's Version) and 1989 (Taylor's Version) topped the UK charts.
Swift is trying to regain control of the master recordings by re-recording her 2021 back catalog with Fearless (Taylor's Version)./BGNES
