Iga Swiatek will play at Billie Jean King Cup Finals in Malaga in November, where Poland face hosts Spain in the opening match, the former women's world No.1 has announced.
Swiatek has not played since her quarter-final loss to Jessica Pegula at the US Open in September and, after opting out of the Asian swing due to fatigue, the Pole also lost her world number one spot. Aryna Sabalenka has overtaken her.
"See you in Malaga. I am happy to announce that I will be playing at Billie Jean King Cup Finals. I am happy to play for my country and represent Poland proudly. Together with the team, we will give our best on the court", Swiatek wrote on social media.
The 23-year-old, who parted ways with coach Tomasz Wiktorowski earlier this month and has since added Wim Fissette, will also compete in the WTA Finals in Riyadh in November. There she will try to return to the top of women's tennis. | BGNES
