Iga Swiatek crushed Italy's Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 6-1 in just over an hour in this year's Roland Garros women's final.
The Pole conceded an early break but then won five straight games with a 20-5 scoreline in her favor to take the set 6-2 in 32 minutes.
The second set continued the trend from the first. Swiatek showed class and took a 5-0 lead after breaks in the second and fourth games. Jasmine Paolini managed to fight for an honorable game with her serve for 5-1.
The leader in the world ranking left no more chances to the sensation of the tournament Jasmine Paolini and closed the set and the match with 6-1.
The 22-year-old Swiatek is the third tennis player in history to win three consecutive Roland Garros titles. Before her, this was achieved by Monica Seles and Justine Henin.
The Italian played her first Grand Slam final and will climb to 7th place in the world rankings on Monday. | BGNES
