Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry has extended his contract with the Warriors for another year, the team officially announced.
The $62.6 million deal will keep him with the San Francisco team through the 2026/27 season. Curry is guaranteed $178 million over the next three seasons of his contract with the Warriors.
The re-signing comes nearly three years after the guard signed a four-year, $215 million contract. It was also the second $200 million-plus contract of Curry's career, which includes four NBA titles and two season MVP awards. By the 2026/27 season, he will have accrued $532 million in contracts, which would rank him only behind LeBron James, who has $580 million.
Last season, Curry, who inspired the USA to success over France in the final of the Olympic tournament in Paris, averaged 26.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game, on 45% overall shooting and 40.8% from three. This past campaign marked Curry's 15th season with Golden State.
He is the leader in made and attempted 3-pointers, and in 2022 he was awarded MVP in the NBA Finals with the Boston Celtics, when the Warriors won their last title so far. | BGNES
