Snoop Dogg has earned $9 million from his Olympic appearances

The rapper from California had a big presence at Paris 2024, repeatedly being in the spotlight during the two weeks the games were taking place. In that time, Snoop Dogg has earned $9 million.

Among other things, he was present at every major event during the summer sporting spectacle, starting with carrying the Olympic torch through a Paris suburb as part of the opening ceremony.

"I look at it as a prestigious honor and something I really respect," he said in an interview just before taking to the streets. "I never dreamed of anything like this."

After the closing ceremony, the broadcast shifted to Santa Monica Beach, where Snoop was among a number of West Coast performers who performed live in his hometown of Los Angeles, host of the 2028 Olympics.

He was joined on stage by his regular rhyme partner Dr Dre, marking the start of the next episode of the world's biggest sporting event. The pair will release a new collaborative album in October. | BGNES
