Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz will meet in the final of the Six Kings Slam exhibition tennis tournament in Saudi Arabia. The world No. 1 broke Novak Djokovic in a marathon battle 6-2, 6-7 (0), 6-4, while the Spaniard beat his idol and compatriot Rafael Nadal 6-3, 6-3.
Alcaraz was undeterred after Nadal recently announced his retirement after the Davis Cup Finals in November. He converted a total of three breaks in the match, dropping just four first serve points and not giving up a single break point to Rafa.
His opponent in Saturday's final is well known – the in-form Sinner. The Italian, who fell to Alcaraz in the final in Beijing, recorded another victory over former No. 1 Djokovic, this time in three sets. The first was entirely under the dictation of Sinner, who after two breaks and less than half an hour of play came out ahead in the result. The second set started with a break for the Joker, but the Italian returned it. It came to a tiebreak in which the Serbian was relentless and did not give a single point to the world number 1.
The decisive third set was extremely dramatic, going through a total of five breaks and chances for both men, but in the end Sinner was the smarter in the end to celebrate the victory - the Italian is on a three-match winning streak against Djokovic in official meetings, recently beating him in the final of the Shanghai Masters.
Today is a rest day, and on Saturday, in addition to the final, there will also be a match for third place between Djokovic and Nadal. After its end, Sinner and Alcaraz will come out on the court, and they will fight to walk away with the largest prize money in the history of tennis - 6 million dollars, or almost double what a champion of a Grand Slam tournament takes (3.8 million dollars). | BGNES
