Shiloh Jolie-Pitt has officially given up her father's surname

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's daughter Shiloh, who is the eldest of the former spouses' biological children, has officially renounced her father's surname. Now her name is Shiloh Nouvel Jolie.

Shiloh tried to do this right after her 18th birthday, but due to an error, the documents were not accepted. The TMZ publication states that there was no formal plea in the case and Shiloh's plea was granted on August 19.

As noted by an inside source of the publication DailyMail, the entire procedure was carried out by the girl herself. "Shiloh hired her own lawyer and paid for everything herself, so Angie knows nothing and can't be held responsible for it."

Insiders previously revealed that Shiloh has decided to ditch her father Brad Pitt, 60,'s last name because of "painful events" in her life. It is most likely referring to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's infamous fight on a plane in 2014, which became the reason for their divorce. On the plane, Pitt allegedly got into an argument with one of his children while drunk and raised his hand at him and Angelina. In the spring, Angelina Jolie also claimed that Brad Pitt had physically abused her even before the "plane fight".

According to insiders, Shiloh's decision to drop his last name was a big blow to Pitt. Shiloh isn't the first of the couple's children to do so: his adopted daughter Zahara and biological daughter Vivienne have previously ditched Pitt's last name.

Pitt and Jolie have a total of six children, three of whom are adopted: 22-year-old Maddox, 19-year-old Zahara and 20-year-old Pax, and three are biological. | BGNES
